HBO spans the country with a tripleheader of welterweight action when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING: ARTURO GATTI VS. ALFONSO GOMEZ, KERMIT CINTRON VS. WALTER MATTHYSSE AND ANTONIO MARGARITO VS. PAUL WILLIAMS is seen live SATURDAY, JULY 14 (9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT) from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ and the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. An HBO Sports team will be ringside at both venues of the tripleheader, which will be presented in HDTV and in Spanish on HBO Latino..

Calling the Atlantic City doubleheader will be Bob Papa and Max Kellerman. Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant will be ringside in California. Unofficial scorer Harold Lederman will work all three fights from his Atlantic City position. Read more

BILOXI–Undefeated Tony “The Tyger” Hanshaw is done kissing up to his Saturday night PPV TV opponent, boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. Hanshaw is furious that Jones ordered hotel officials and security at the host IP Casino-Resort-Spa not to let Hanshaw and his training team use the first-classs ring and other boxing equipment which had been set up for both fighters..

When Team Hanshaw went to train in the hotel-casino Monday, they were barred by an armed security guard who told them the premises were “off-limits” to anybody except Roy Jones Jr. The boxing ring and the various bags are all owned by Jones who trucked them over from his Florida home. Read more

IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham will make his second mandatory title defense on August 18 when he takes on Khoren Gevor in Berlin´s Max-Schmeling-Halle. “We have reached an agreement with Universum today,” Sauerland managing director Chris Meyer stated. “The fight will be promoted and organised by us. By choosing Berlin we do not only have a home game but the Max-Schmeling-Halle is also a perfect arena for such a quality fight.”

Bad blood between the Roy Jones Jr. and Anthony Hanshaw camps continued to boil Tuesday as the two prepare to fight in a scheduled 12-round bout for the IBC light heavyweight title Saturday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Now it seems that members of the Jones team are hotter than the mid-July Mississippi temperatures..

For the second straight day, the Hanshaw team was physically barred from using the boxing ring and various bags, owned by Jones, at the host IP Casino-Resort-Spa. Hanshaw, manager Bryan Justus and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. were turned away by an armed security guard who informed them that the training setup was strictly for the use of boxing legend Jones. Two heavyweight knockout artists have a score to settle when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING: WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO VS. LAMON BREWSTER II is seen live SATURDAY, JULY 7 (5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT), from the Cologne Arena in Cologne, Germany, with a replay later that same day at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Wladimir Klitschko (48-3, 43 KOs), from Kiev, Ukraine, has his eye on revenge when he faces Lamon Brewster (33-3, 29 KOs), from Vero Beach, Fla. in this scheduled 12-round heavyweight championship bout. WBC number one-ranked cruiserweight contender David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye will fulfil one of his career ambitions on September 28 in Paris, France, when he finally locks horns with WBC and WBA cruiserweight king Jean-Marc Mormeck. Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank have reached a settlement of the various legal disputes including that pertaining to Manny Pacquiao. Bouts between Manny Pacquiao and marquee boxing fighters under contract to Golden Boy will be co-promoted by Golden Boy and Top Rank. Fights between Manny Pacquiao against fighters other than Golden Boy fighters will be promoted by Top Rank with Golden Boy retaining a promotional interest. Read more
