Wladimir Klitschko will now fight Ruslan Chagaev on June 20 in Schalke, Germany. Chagaev steps in for the injured David Haye.

Chagaev was schedlued to fight Nikolai Valuev last week. Ruslan Chagaev and Nikolai Valuev are joint holders of the WBA belt. They were scheduled to fight on 30th May 2009 in Finland Hartwall Arena, but Chagaev failed a Finnish medical test, alegedly due to contracting hepatitis and the Russian cancelled the fight. Klitschko said he would have fought Chagaev: “What a farce. I’d have consulted the German doctors. They would have confirmed that no infection danger exists, then I would have fought Ruslan Chagaev immediately. To me what’s one more vaccination? That’s all there is to it. Today it’s no longer a problem. At my training camp I’m inoculated against tick bites because I sometimes jog near the forest. I think this is all about business. Don King owns a piece of Valuev and the next mandatory challenger would be John Ruiz, whom Don King has 100% of. That is very clear.”

Klitschko currently holds the IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles and is ranked number one by the IBO in the top 100 computerized rankings. His elder brother, Vitali Klitschko, is the current WBC and former WBO heavyweight champion.
